If you do want to play Rob Zombie make sure you dont turn it up to loud or else your modded sterio wont take the power View image: /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif (inside joke)BTW for verne.had the same thing happen to me I was on the ship few levels in, andwhen I play I turn down the A/C then turn off the lights turn the sound system up, well im deep in the game and My cat decided to jump in my lap about the time a monkey shot at me from a blind corner. So when you play agian, just let the music play out after you do something important and you will be fine. Also its not night club techno you know that for a fact unless you need more scholling on it I'll be happy to help you hear more. When you dont notice anthing else but the game (like SH did) thats when a sudden noise will get ya. so the studios threw in the techno as a reminder of acomplishment, further more if it was just strait music then it would be a distraction from the intensity of the game. While there are callbacks, and of course, the games share a universe, you don't need any background to just jump right in with the sequel. They made the music because at certain points you could spend hours with the right tool and not know it. The introduction to SS2 recounts the story of SS1. Well there are 2 different items here one is that SH has no music and plays on "bump in the night factor" where as SS2 used the music as "you did it right newbee". or maybe some Rob Zombie and/or Type O Negative. I couldn't really get into SS2 because of the background music (the night club techno stuff isn't my thing), and by the time I got fed up with it and turned off the music the damage had been done. personally I found Silent Hill to be more dark / gloomy / foreboding than System Shock2.
